A small group of hardy indiciduals turned up for the second fun duathlon of the season.  Despite the weather (wndy and flurries of snow) it proved to be one of the more interesting races.  Keith Harcus improved his time by a long margin on last months event and Chris Webb enjoyed his first duathlon.  Rosie Cursiter battled the elements and finished with a good time (and was the only female taking part). At the front it was an extremely close race with David Foulis leading on the first run section - and managing to stay out in front on the cycle.  However, with only seconds between David, Mark , Torquil and Gavin on the cycle it all came down to the final run.  But for David it was lost in the transitions and Mark and Gavin posted the fasted final run lap.  Torquil emerged the winner with the other three finishing less than 20 seconds behind.

Many club members have been asking about plans for the winter training and now seems an ideal time to discuss possible club training events.  So far the comments have been:

• regular fun duathlons (the last Sunday of the month over the winter)

Junior Triathlon Results - 2007

The results for this years middle distance in Aberfeldy are below (click on the link to open the document).

 Aberfeldy Middle Distance Triathlon results

In temperatures of 40C and high humidity the Orkney Triathlon Team put in a great performance to finish in 3rd place in the team classification.  Bob Oag finished eight overall despite not being race fit due to a hip injury, and Willie Tullock put in a brave performance after a bike spill on the first lap of the cycle.  Torquil Clyde and Tom Fay both put in strong performances - enough to push the Island of Man team into 4th position by seconds.
